Huawei Signs an MOU with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation to Provide Digital Power Solutions and Green Data Centers

Huawei, a leading provider of information and communication technology solutions, has signed an MOU with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). The agreement seeks to leverage Huawei’s global expertise to provide cutting-edge sustainable digital energy solutions and environmentally friendly data center for various projects within the energy sector. The collaborative efforts aim to develop Egypt’s energy sector, facilitating the adoption of renewable energy sources and contributing to achieving Egypt’s integrated sustainable energy strategy for 2035.

This cooperation comes on the sidelines of Huawei’s participation in the Egypt Energy Show ‘EGYPES 2024’ for the fourth consecutive year, where Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources witnessed the agreement which was signed by Joey Deng, CEO of Huawei Digital Power Business, Engineer Ibrahem Ramadan, Executive Director of Business Development at Huawei, Iman Wafi, EGPC CEO Assistant for Information Technology & Telecommunications, and Dr. Alaa El-Batal, CEO of EGPC.

Huawei plays a pivotal role in providing smart solutions and green data centers for the energy sector projects. These efforts align with Huawei’s commitment to building a carbon-neutral smart community and advancing digital transformation in the energy sector by driving efficiency, reducing costs, and bolstering productivity.
